USSEEWA (うっせぇわ)

 USSEEWA (うっせぇわ)

Before we talk about the song let us talk about the person behind the song first.

Ado is a Japanese singer born on October 24, 2002, and is currently 19. Ado just within the age of 17 made her debut with the digital single "Usseewa" which peaked as the number 1 song on Billboard Japan Hot 100 and reached 100 million plays just within 17 weeks and is the sixth fastest and the youngest for a solo singer (Wikipedia). Ado has actually a pretty mysterious background and before she became a singer for a company she used to sing Vocaloid songs and was a utaite though she still does Vocaloid covers her original music tend to get more views.

Now we shall actually talk about the song in question "Usseewa". Usseewa is basically a song about Japanese society and how society wants people to act a certain way and how the customs and societal standards pressure her and just wants to break the mold. Usseewa is basically a response to Japanese society and how individualism is looked down upon and it is best to not stand out and just be normal and be like everyone else. And due to that Usseewa gained quite a bit of controversy in Japan and made quite a ruckus and especially with the profanities in the song.

Honestly, the song is quite nice, and especially with Ado's voice which is more on the harsher side or whatever the terminology is, I'm not a musical guy. I think the song also is a wake-up call to some Japanese people especially the younger ones who want to feel freer, be themselves, and break the mold created by harsh Japanese societal standards which is less on individualism and more on society as a whole. The song also slaps even if you are unaware of the context behind the music and the controversies behind it, a song is a song no matter how bad the singer's past or not we can all learn to appreciate good music. Though it helps to know the context of songs, it makes you appreciate the music more like Ruru's song which also hits quite hard if you know the context. Well that's it I hope you enjoy the song and do not feel like your time is wasted.
